The Symphonic Anime Orchestra is an amateur symphony orchestra, run by Kathryn Vedder, performing orchestral settings of music pertaining to Japanese anime. Founded in 2005, the orchestra has performed at Nan Desu Kan, Aki con, A-Kon, MTAC, Katsucon, Saboten Con and more. SAO tours anime conventions around the western United States, with its four core members and the orchestra filling out with volunteer instrumentalists. The spirit of SAO is inclusion and fun.
